Payments can still be made online at ruston.org, through our automated phone number at 1-866-890-5755, placed in our drop box by the drive thru, or mailed to PO Box 307 Ruston LA, 71273-0307.

Service Connections/Disconnections will not be made after 10:30 A.M. on Fridays.

**We do not service on weekends or holidays

Residential Applications:

To begin new service submit Residential Application Form, a current copy of your state/federal ID, driver's license, or passport, along with one of the following:

  1. A copy of your current lease with both parties signatures
  2. Proof of home ownership
  3. Download and fill out a Tenant Without Lease Form

*A customer service representative will contact you once your application is received to collect your deposit or you may come to the City Hall Customer Service office the next business day to pay your deposit. 

**All applications must have valid phone number for collecting deposits or questions regarding application.

***WE CANNOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS MORE THAN 7 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE TURN ON DATE.

Landlords: 

For utility service for 7 days, submit the 7 day Landlord form.

For utility service that is NOT for 7 days, submit the Apartment Complex/Rental Unit application.

For homeowners, if you would like utilities to automatically revert to your name, complete the revert to owner form, to cancel this service fill out the cancel revert to owner form. *also include a copy of your photo ID.

Commercial Applications: 

Prior to submitting application for utility service go to http://www.mygovernmentonline.org to complete application for Certificate of Occupancy.  If you have questions about this application, contact The City of Ruston Inspections department at 318-251-8640.

Pay Online with your Visa or Mastercard through the MyGovernmentOnline.org portal:

Go to www.mygovernmentonline.org and login with your user account. Click on the "Account" button at the top right section of the page. Scroll down to the "My Permits" section. Locate the permit number you wish to pay and click on "View Permit". Click on the "Payments" tab. Click on the "Pay Online" button near the bottom of the page to pay the balance with your Visa or MasterCard. Once you have completed processing your payment, the system will notify the Permit Department staff automatically. A staff person will contact you when the permit is ready for issuance.

If you are a new business owner or if you are changing ownership, complete application with inspection office and then submit the New Business Utility Service Application.

If you are a contractor for a new or exisiting property, complete application with inspection office and then submit Contractor Utility Service Application.

Disconnect:

To disconnect utility services please fill out the Utility Service Disconnect Form and submit it along with a copy of your state or federal ID.

If your residence has a separate metered sprinkler system, please fill out an additional Disconnect Form for the sprinkler system to insure that both accounts are closed out.

To disconnect Recycling (Inside or Outside of City Limits) or Outside City Limits Garbage Services please fill out the Recycle/Garbage Disconnect Form and submit it along with a copy of your state or federal ID.

 

Other Services: 

To change your mailing addres please submit Change of Address form with a copy of your sate or federal ID. 

To sign up to receive an electronic copy of your bill or change your email address, complete an Electronic Bill Enrollment form.

To reinstate recently disconnected utilities (within 7 days of disconnection) Reinstatement of Utilities Form with a copy of your state or federal ID.

Garbage and Recycling Service: 

To apply for garbage outside the city limits  and recycling inside or outside of the city limits go to rustonrecycles to fill out the application.
