POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The City of Ruston is recruiting for the following position:
TITLE: Public Works Electric Utility Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: Public Works Director
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
· Plan, coordinate, and assign operational duties and responsibilities across the prescribed departments.
· Oversee hirings and terminations for Electric and GIS departments. Ensure that human resources have accurate job descriptions and postings for all open and available positions.
· Routinely inspect construction and maintenance projects and prepare necessary reports or updates.
· Attend City Council meetings and, as needed, present ordinances and resolutions to the City Council.
· Monitor operations to ensure compliance with DEQ, EPA, and other mandated regulations.
· Coordinate with the public relations department to accurately communicate important updates.
· Work with engineers, architects, surveyors, or other design professionals to define scope, scale, and specifications for public works projects.
· Assist with preparing the annual budgets for the Electric and GIS departments.
· Perform related jobs deemed necessary.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction technology, or related business field plus seven years related experience and/or training; or high school diploma or GED and fifteen years related experience and/or training, including five years of solid supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES: Must possess a valid State of Louisiana driver's license.
STARTING PAY: Based on experience.
